    Randy;

    I read your book, ‘Is Anybody Listening,’ and was highly impressed. To have chapters authored by the students themselves is insightful and eye-opening. I was amazed at the level of maturity many of them displayed and their foresight to apply their experiences to set goals and shape their lives in the future. A book worth reading for all ages, but particularly teenagers and parents.

    Best Wishes,

    “As a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public school setting for 8 years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students, parents, and professionals who would benefit from the book; “Is Anybody Listening?” It is an exemplary body of work compiled by students with a voice to be heard, acknowledged and shared. Each story, from student, teacher and Randy King, is sewn together with a common thread: “the youth are our future; they internalize the world around them and persevere with their free will.” – Candice M. Steel, B.S. SLP-L Speech-Language Pathologist

    Dear Randy,

    Wow! Great reading! I enjoyed reading the whole book. I read it the first time and cried most of the way threw it, so I read it the second time and I was amazed at how honest and real that the youth of this generation can be. The students at MALC are truly a very special group of young men and women.

    This book is a must read for any adult working with the youth in America and around the World. I wish I had – had this book to read when my own children were in Middle School. Maybe then as a parent I would have been more understanding of their feeling and emotions of the 12 – 14 year olds.

    The issues that our teens face every day are real – and in my openion Mr. King and Dr. Christensen have done us all a real service by writing this book and thank you to each young man and women who wrote their essays. This book is or should be a must read for anyone working with our 12 – 18 year olds, as a parent, teacher, councelor/advisor, principal.

    Thank You,
    Nancy Best, local, state and national PTA

  • Connie says:

    Your enthusiasm for everything from politics to young people fills the room (or in this case, office) long after you have driven away and gone off to face your next challenge or task. Thanks for that. Lots of thinking about and appreciation of my own youth. Yes, there were times I felt I had an awful childhood-even abusive but reading how those young people gathered strength from their struggles was like therapy for me. Amazing what you can still learn when you’re 65 years young. Thanks for that. Connie

  • MARIE says:

    Being involved 100% in my own daughter success is truly a great honor, especially when you see them flourish into winners of society, My daughter this next year will be traveling with the “People to People Leadership Program Ambassador Program” to England, Scotland, and France. How proud I am for my dedication toward my daughter and how she has become stronger in her abilities to experience the world. Good parents not poor excuses for ones will see their children’s success. As for my daughter, she has been given the opportunity to choose to go to UCLA, BERKLEY, HOUSTON—to major in Medical Science. Working hard is the only way to go.

    Randy:

    I met you last Wednesday evening at the Professional Networking Group at AmTrust Bank, purchased your book and listened to your brief but inspiring talk.

    This is a superb read for a brief review of our political system, personal motivation that tilts toward “The Law of Attraction,” a primer for now and the future and full speeches by many that we should honor as well as charts for all to use. This should be a “must read” for every student in their developmental years, parent, educator, and organization owners/managers everywhere in the universe.

    Thank you and I am glad that I have lived long enough to have acquired and read your book.
